I'm still here... Library Conference was great

Hi all,

That 'all' really means only me though.  But I am vain enough to like reading my own words.

I have been away and very busy for the last few days.  I had a library conference in Echuca which was absolutely fantastic and work as always has been busy and varied.  This time of the year is quietly called 'Tissues, pens and lollies' for very obvious reasons.

So what have I read????  Quite a few books over the last few days so the reviews won't be up to my usual standard (ha ha).  I have been lucky enough to read some really great books and I have much to look forward to when the 'next' in the series comes out.

Raven by Allison Van Diepen

I am a bit of a fan of a nice tattoo and this book.  I like the way that Allison writes.  This is a story about a girl called Nicole and the boy she is in love with Zin.  They both dance in a break dancing group and Nicole gets a job at the same club that Zin works at.  Zin carries a old secret with him and Nicole even though she is drawn to him can't get him to open up to her until she is attacked on her way home from work.  Zin opens up a whole new world to Nicole and she has to decide if she can live with what she has learnt.  It will affect her life in many extraordinary ways.   This is classed as Young Adult.  I loved this book and it had me hooked from page to page.  Read it!!!!

Stormwalker by Allyson James

It might seem that I love every book that I read, but I did LOVE this book.  I love Janet, I love Mick and I love Coyote.  Janet is a Stormwalker which means she can harness the power of the storms and use it for good.  She finds out that her mother is an evil goddess from 'Beneath' that needs Janet's powers to open a vortex so that she can escape and wreak havoc on the world.  Mick is her on again, off again boyfriend.  I wish there was a picture of him somewhere because I reckon he would be gorgeous.  Allyson's description is almost as good though.  Coyote is a 'God' who hasn't quite made up his mind about Janet yet.  There are several other characters who are just great including Sherriff Nash.  I can't recommend this highly enough.  Go out and get it!!!  And next in the series "Firewalker".

I am just starting Nice Girls Don't Live Forever by Holly Harper
